Japan's Super GT series has long been the haven for fire-breathing V8 monsters with silhouettes ripped straight out of a sci-fi manga comic. Now we have this new Lexus RC-F GT500, revealed here in all its wide-bodied glory.
Scary, isn't it? But then the Japanese Super GT series has always birthed these types of cars (who can forget Honda's terrifyingly excellent HSV-010?), and Lexus has teased these Daft Punk-esque pics ahead of the car's season debut at the Okayama International Circuit on April 6.
No details about the car have been revealed, but we know that Super GT wants to align itself more closely with the DTM, and will this year ditch the 3.4-litre V8s (boo) for 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder race engines. Power is supposed to mirror that of the outgoing V8s, so you're looking at around 500bhp, but the noise will be very, very different. As you can check out in the video below.
Plus, there's all that aero happening too. Have a look through the pics, and we'll bring you more as we get it. What we do know however, is that the standard, road-going Lexus RC-F will sport a big, hearty 5.0-litre V8 producing over 450bhp to do battle with the new M4 Coupe. This will make for a really good fight.
