We have for sale a very original and solid example of a 1971 Dodge Dart Swinger, we have just imported the car from North Carolina.<br />

The car is extremely solid and rust free. The only rust we can find is a little surface rust on the corner of the front panel where the car has suffered a bit of damage in the past, also there are some lumps appearing under the vinyl top ( which is in excellent condition), these may be rust or they might be the old adhesive. The floor pans and underbody are one of the cleanest we have seen in a long while.<br />

The car has, as far as we can tell, had a repaint in the original colour a good while in the past. The paintwork shines up to a very presentable shine but is showing its age with a few areas that have been polished through to the primer, and a few patches where the paint is missing. It has got a very nice aged patina but if you want it to be a show winner it will need a respray.<br />

The car benefits from still having all its original trim ( bar the lower rear screen trim which is missing ) which is in exceptional condition and comes complete with the original wheel trims. Also the front grille is in absolutely pristine condition which is good news as good used ones are fetching nearly $1000. <br />
<br />
The interior is where some work will be required. The seats look as though they have been attacked by Freddy Kruger !!!! The good news is we have a new set of seat covers on order ( front and rear ) which will be included in the sale.The dash pad is also toast ( new ones are available at approx 220 ), the door and rear quarter trims are all in excellent condition as are the carpets ( albeit a bit faded in places). The rear parcel shelf is currently missing but we hope to refit one before the car goes.<br />

The car is powered by Chrysler"s bullet proof engine the Slant 6, this one is the 225 cu in version mated to a three speed auto gearbox. The engine starts on the button and runs fine but I will carry out a service and a tune up before we give it to the new owner.<br />

We have also had four brand new 205 70 x 14 tyres fitted as the car came to me with mismatched tyres.<br />
<br />
The car will be sold MOT"d and fully legal for use on UK roads ready for the new owner to enjoy.<br />
