-CONVENTIONAL PEDAL LAYOUT-CLUTCH ON LEFT, BRAKE IN CENTRE, ACCELERATOR ON RIGHT

WHICH MAKES DRIVING EASIER AND LESS FRANTIC!

DODGE model 126 BUSINESS COUPE, 1926
LARGELY FINISHED RESTORATION, or HOT ROD.
Hard work done

GOOD POINTS
Mechanics, running gear, chassis, body and seat done. Completion easy and can be DIY.
Complete car. (And just about all parts are still available in the USA if something small needs replacing)

DONE

Hard work done
no welding needed
chassis cleaned and painted
engine rebuilt
No rust other than minor surface rust in a few places)
wheels (spokes) have new tyres
new petrol tank
brakes and running gear overhauled
interior-seat restored and recovered
no bodywork needed other than paint

NEEDED

Paint, woodwork (roof, running boards, door cards), windscreen.

Paint (Wings are bolted on, easy to unbolt and spray)
Roof- originally wood and fabric construction. Some bits left to use as pattern
Running boards (wood)
Interior-door cards (simple to make as very basic)
Has a plywood floor-be nicer with one more like original wood plank floor.
windscreen cracked. This is simple flat glass so easy to get a piece cut to size...in fact it is a good idea for safety as the original is not safety glass)
Wiring (very basic). So not much left to do.

These were a step forward in reliability and so sold well to travelling businessmen-samples went in the boot.
They were also a step forward in speed-60 mph! with a 3500cc engine.

Selling as this is sadly one project too many for SWMBO.
With so much done it won"t take much to complete the restoration, or if you want to go a different route, this is a great basis for a hot rod in 2 door coupe shape.
