This star of this drag race video is the wicked 1st gen Chevrolet Camaro drag car owned by Jeremy Callaghan. This Camaro is powered by a GM big block fitted with a pair of gigantic Precision turbos and a Fueltech electronic fuel injection setup, laying down more than 2,500 horsepower. This is an Outlaw 10.5 car, so it is riding on a "10.5 inch wide" racing slick and it likely weighs right around 3,000lbswith more than 2,500 horsepower. The video starts off by showing us this wicked 1st gen Chevrolet Camaro with the front end off, giving us a great look at the engine with the huge turbos mounted at the front right behind the convenient openings in the front end. After that, the racing begins. On the first run, we see a nice burnout followed by a strong start, but when the front end starts to lift around half track, the driver lets off and the Camaro coasts through the top end. On the second run, the Camaro gets out great and stays into the throttle through the thousand foot mark laying down an impressive 6.941 at 159 miles per hour.On the third run, this twin turbo Camaro really gets hustling, running an awesome 6.54 at 221.8 miles per hour and in the final run of the video, Jeremy Callaghan"s classic Camaro race car runs a 6.53 at 224.7 miles per hour. So, for those of you wondering what you get when you drop in a 2,500hp big block V8 into a 1st gen Camaro race car on a 10.5 inch slick you get a classic muscle car which will outrun an NHRA pro stock car. For those who aren"t familiar with the NHRA Pro Stock ranks, those cars are running in the 6.50-6.70 range, depending on the event, so this classic Camaro could literally run neck-and-neck with the modern pro stock teams.Crank up your speakers for the full force of this twin turbo, big block Camaro and enjoy!
