This Drag Race Monday video features a Camaro Z28 making quarter mile passes at ATCO Raceway. As the license plate reads, this Camaro is known as the NJ Devil and under the hood is the heart of a beast. This Camaro is powered by an LS1 engine which has been stroked out to 408 cubic inches. That big cube engine is fitted with a custom camshaft, new cylinder heads and a FAST intake manifold, along with a big set of long tube headers and a free flowing exhaust system. The NJ Devil also has a nitrous oxide system, but in this video, the car is being run off the bottle. All of that power is set through an original Camaro automatic transmission. Though, it’s been fitted with a 4,000rpm stall converter and 3.91 gears in the original 10-bolt rear diff. This Camaro also has skinny wheels and tires up front and fat Hoosier slicks out back. It also has unspecified weight reduction efforts which include the tubular front suspension bits.We get to see the NJ Devil Camaro make two quarter mile passes. On the first run, the 4th gen Camaro lays down a 10.78 at 124.8 miles per hour. On the second run, the NJ Devil runs a 10.75 at 124.2 miles per hour. There is a third run in the video, showing the bright red Camaro launching and destroying the stock differential right off of the line. [Editor’s Note: I guess he didn’t have a “magic” 10-bolt, oh well.] However, with two solid runs, there is no question that this is a legit 10-second NA Camaro.Tags: 408 LSX, 4th gen Camaro, camaro, drag race monday, ls1, LSX, NJ Devil
