This drag race video comes to us from the HorsePowerAddicts YouTube channel and it features a brand new 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 making a pair of runs down the quarter-mile. Even with the big aero package in place and the stock Michelin tires, this Corvette runs back-to-back runs of 10.75 and 10.76.The Most Powerful CorvetteThe supercar in action in the video above is a 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 coupe with the ZTK package and the 8-speed automatic transmission. It is stock down to the tires, so it is riding on the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, which are among the best tires on the street for road racing, but they aren"t drag racing tires. Also, the ZTK package includes the huge rear wing that has been shown to slow cars down in the quarter mile, but thanks to the 755-horsepower LT5 V8 mated to the 8-speed automatic transmission this Chevy supercar gets down the drag strip in impressive fashion.Stock ZR1 on the TrackThe video begins with a look at the 2019 Corvette ZR1 in the staging lanes of Cecil County Dragway ahead of its first run. After that short walk-around of the car, the supercharged supercar pulls into the burnout box. The new ‘Vette does a quick, smoky burnout and that eases up to the line against a competitor that turns out to be a 4th gen Firebird. It appears as though the driver of the Corvette brings the engine speed up a bit past idle and when the light turns green, the ZR1 pulls away from the line gently enough to avoid spinning the tires, but hard enough to lead to a solid quarter mile time. The car clearly pulls harder past the 60-foot mark and it ends up beating the Pontiac and covering the quarter mile in just 10.75 seconds. It did so with a speed of 128.29 miles per hour and while it beat the Firebird, we don"t get to see what the competitor ran.On the second run, the ZR1 takes on a New Edge Mustang and the Vette driver sleeps at the line a bit, making for an easy win by the Ford. However, the Chevy still ran a 10.76 at 130.20 miles per hour which is a mighty respectable time for a car built to dominate the road course.Join the LS1tech forums today!Tags: 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Corvette, drag race monday, Video, ZR1
