This week"s Drag Race segment features a pair of videos showing Tom Bailey"s Drag Week-winning twin turbocharged 1969 Chevrolet Camaro participating in the racing action at the 2016 Roadkill Nights event in Metro Detroit. Tom Bailey has proven that his monster Camaro is one of the quickest street cars in the world while dominating the Hot Rod Drag Week tour, but the Roadkill event wasn"t all about the quickest times. The 8th mile drag racing portion of the Roadkill Nights event in Detroit actually took place on a half-mile stretch of Woodward Avenue, and while there were timing systems with a proper starting line Christmas tree, these races were all grudge match style heads up, pro tree, no times. The organizers did monitor times quietly in order to pick the quickest four non-Dodge vehicles to go head to head for a $500 prize and in that group was Tom Bailey and his 1969 Sick Seconds Camaro.Bailey put on a great show with his Camaro, both in qualifying and in eliminations making short work of the rest of the 4-vehicle field in the non-Dodge class.Below, we have included a video of Bailey and his Camaro making a smokey qualifying run against a Dodge Magnum and a second video, showing the Sick Seconds Camaro taking down a turbocharged AMX during the scoring rounds. Tags: 1st Gen Camaro, camaro, Roadkill, sick seconds, tom bailey
