This week"s Dyno Blast video features one of the limited edition 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS Indy 500 Pace Car Convertible stretching its legs on the rollers. We can expect that this Camaro is stock, since it was borrowed from a dealership to make the video, but it still lays down some shockingly high numbers through the 8-speed automatic transmission. After a short walkaround video, we see the Indy Pace Car Camaro roll onto a 4-wheel dyno setup and get to business. We watch from the rear as the driver works through new Camaro through the lower gears before hamming the throttle. With the hammer down, the LT1 under the hood sounds fantastic through the dual mode exhaust and the dyno numbers are even more fantastic.Honestly, they are a little too fantastic. This Camaro lays down 436 horsepower and 433 lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels per the graph at the end of the video. Considering that the LT1 has an official rating of 455 hp and 455 tq, these wheel numbers are remarkably high roughly 20-30 hp higher than the average new Camaro SS dyno figures. However, since the 2016 Camaro SS Indy Pace car is so rare, it makes for an interesting feature, so crank up your speakers and enjoy!Tags: 6th Gen, 6th Gen Camaro, camaro, Camaro SS, Dyno, Dyno Blast, indy pace car, LT1
