Today’s Dyno Blast video features a 2000 Chevrolet Camaro with a monster engine build stretching its legs on the rollers. The details are short, but we know that this 4th gen Camaro is fitted with an LS-based engine measuring 370 cubic inches, which is a popular size for big power LS buildsand this is a pretty big power build. With the help of a Borg Warnger S476R turbocharger mounted at the front of the engine bay and what I suspect is a fairly extensive engine mod list, this Camaro is pushing around 16-17 pounds of boost into that 370 cubic inch LS V8 and the result is monster power and an incredible roar. The video begins with the guy behind the wheel of this 2000 Turbocharged Camaro working his way through the gears. The Camaro sounds good as he eases through the gears, but when he gets to 4th gear and hammers the throttle this boosted LS really clears its throat. Although the mic on the camera is barely able to record the roar of this turbo Camaro, the combination of the V8 exhaust tone and the whistle of the forced induction setup is nothing short of awesome. While the sound is bad in the middle of the run it is great before and after.Don’t try this at home.As the run ends, the cameraman walks over to the screen and we see that this turbo LS Camaro laid down 828 horsepower and 724lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels. The video also notes that by simply removing the air filter, they picked up 101 rear wheel horsepower, so keep that in mind next time you hit the dyno or the next time you consider paying big money for an air filter. We should note that this is a terrible idea anywhere but the dyno cell. Even at the strip this could end in tears if the turbo eats up some debris.
