Watch a 2014 Corvette Stingray Z51 Benefit from a ProCharger Setup. This week"s Dyno Blast video features a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51 making a pair of runs on the rollers. On the first run, the 2014 Stingray Z51 is in factory-stock form with the 7-speed manual transmission and the performance exhaust setup. On the second run, this Stingray has been fitted with a ProCharger supercharger and two different tuning setups. Best of all, there is an interesting performance overlay, letting us watch the wheel speed, the engine RPM, the horsepower and torque levels and the line graph of the dyno run.Figure that the 2014 Corvette Stingray with the performance exhaust setup makes advertised figures of 460 horsepower and 465lb-ft of torque at the transmission, but before adding the supercharger, the owner wanted to get a baseline readout. On the run in the video below, this C7 Stingray lays down 414 horsepower and 411lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels giving this car a drivetrain loss percentage of right around 10%.Next, the video shows this same Corvette Stingray with a ProCharger blower setup making a run with the street tune and 7psi of boost pressure. With that setup, this Corvette lays down 599 horsepower and 554lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels improvements of 185 horsepower and 143lb-ft of torque at the wheels. Finally, we don"t get to see the dyno run with the "power tune", but we do get to see the dyno chart with evidence of 624 rear wheel horsepower and 570lb-ft of rear wheel torque accounting for increases of 210 wheel horsepower and 159lb-ft of wheel torque. This video offers those C7 Corvette Stingray owners considering a simple supercharger setup a great chance to see the package in action with impressive results and for the rest of us it is just cool to see this before-and-after video with the vehicle information on the screen.
