Watch a twin turbo 5th gen Camaro lay down monster numbers. This week"s Dyno Blast Wednesday video features a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro SS working out on the rollers, but this is far from your average 5th gen Camaro SS. Rather than a naturally aspirated 6.2L LS3 with somewhere in the area of 350-360 rear wheel horsepower, this 2011 Camaro SS is fitted with a twin turbocharged 427 cubic inch (7.0L) LS-based engine. The video begins with the black 2011 Camaro SS rumbling its way into the dyno room at Race Proven Motorsports, allowing us to hear the cammed and boosted 427 at low RPM. Once the car has been strapped down to the dyno, we get to hear that beautiful twin turbo V8 work as the driver moves through the lower gears and once the car is in 4th gear the driver puts the hammer to the floor. The boost 427 screams through the exhaust as the RPM soars and as quickly as it began, the pull ends, causing the car to backfire and spit flames as the car decelerates on the dyno.Next, we get a look at what appears to be the same dyno run from a different camera angle, providing a slightly different sound from the twin turbo Camaro SS during the dyno pull and the last action of the video shows a different dyno run which once again results in the Chevy muscle car shooting flames out the back. Finally, before the video ends, we get a look at the dyno screen for this twin turbocharged Camaro SS, with 891.65 rear wheel horsepower and 860.77lb-ft of rear wheel torque. Those represent gains of roughly 530 horsepower and 500lb-ft of torque in moving from the NA 6.2 to the boosted 7.0.
