Late last year, the reborn Fisker Inc. returned to the fray with something called the EMotion concept car. A small four-door (four butterfly doors, that is) powered by electricity and purporting an ambitious 400-mile range. Now we"ve got some more pictures of a slightly less outlandishly detailed EMotion, hinting strongly that development is coming along nicely and the finished car is heading for production. The black motif at the front houses a LIDAR sensor, which is a key component for autonomous driving, using lasers for measuring distance and allowing a car to calculate its position and heading relative to other static and moving objects. If Fisker"s newcomer is to have a similar run on deposits when orders open later this month as Tesla"s Model 3, it"ll clearly want to better the self-driving capability of Elon Musk"s next offering.
