May we present to you a rather pristine, showroom-fresh Porsche Carrera GT. It is being offered up for auction at Mecum"s Monterey sale, is one of just 604 GTs ever imported into the United States, and has covered just 152 miles since 2005.Yep, it"s practically brand new, and for an estimated auction price of up to $1.4m, represents a considerable investment. But then you are getting quite a lot of car. Specifically, a carbon-tubbed, lightweight, mid-V10-engined supercar; the predecessor to the 918 Spyder. That naturally aspirated 5.7-litre V10 is good for over 600bhp, and is hooked up to a good old-fashioned six-speed manual gearbox driving the rear wheels, and when put to the test, will go from 0-60mph in 3.6secs. It"s also really, really gorgeous, and features nerd-levels of motorsport-derived tech: carbon fibre panels, ceramic composite brakes, pushrod inboard suspension, that CF and aluminium monocoque/subframe, a lovely rear wing, stainless steel exhaust system and a noise that"ll thrill even today. As mentioned, it"ll go under the hammer between 18-20 August, and is expected to fetch anywhere between $1.1m and $1.4m. You want it.
