Ford Motor Co. announced Tuesday that Paul Mascarenas, Chief Technical Officer and Vice President, Research and Advanced Engineering, will retire after 32 years at Ford, effective Oct. 1. Mascarenas also established Ford"s first-ever laboratory in Silicon Valley and played a key role in developing Ford"s Blueprint for Mobility. Ken Washington has been named Vice President, Research and Advanced Engineering, effective Aug. 18 and will succeed Mascarenas. Previously, Washington served as Vice President of the Space Technology Advanced Research & Development Laboratories at Lockheed Martin"s Space Systems company. Kumar Galhotra, current Vice President of Engineering, has been named Vice President and President of Lincoln, effective Sept. 1. The new position is designed to further accelerate Lincoln as a luxury brand. Succeeding Galhotra is Jim Holland (SAE Member, 1984), who has been named Vice President, Vehicle Component and Systems Engineering, effective Sept. 1.
