I m having to downsize life to one car, and my wife won t drive this, so I will make do with her car. I never intended to sell it, so I have spent a small fortune renovating and upgrading it.

Following Jonny Smith s encouragement, I bought this 08 car then with 87k on it in 13 from a dealer.

It s an 09 model yr car, now with 99k on the clock. Checks out as no registered accidents on US Carfax (HPI equiv.), as well as HPI d here when I bought it. It had been imported to the UK by a motor factors co. which used it as a promo car. Fully inspected when purchased and bodywork guys and mechanics who ve worked on it over the years say it has no detectable issues (in either respect).

09 model is a late model year for the P71, bringing improved crash performance, side bags, improved chassis.

I ve done light mods and improvements, but it is essentially enhanced stock so it looks like a real police car. It s in great (improved) condition, although it shows the wear you d expect of a utility vehicle. It has never let me down, though of course a few things need doing now and then (eg heater fan broke, that kind of thing). I have used it as my daily driver, though I ve only put 12k on the clock since buying.

It is very comfortable and would be great for a family. Huge boot, even with the LPG tank. Still feels fresh and no bagginess. It sounds awesome with Stainless Works headers and new cats (rear section of exhaust is stock, so it s not boomy)

Here s a list of what I ve done (not comprehensive):

- Just serviced, MOT d to Feb (always passes - though they are not Euro lights I have had headlights adjusted by MOT centre to a flat beam so they pass)
- Private plate PO53 POS
- 100 ltr LPG conversion in 13 (30 mpg equiv.) - note lambda sensors don t always like the LPG and fault light sometimes comes on. No issues, I ve had it checked out and light just needs resetting.
- New Yokohama SUV tyres in 15, loads of tread. Much better ride and handling than old Firestones (spare wheel is unused stock tyre)
- Full respray in GT3RS Grau/Schwatz flat grey in 13 (was black & white, covered in decals) - pics can look darker than it is. (Have pics of respray process, and subsequent light touch up to parking scrapes)
- Soundproofing and new carpets (ride is very quiet), interior otherwise original
- 4 x new lambda sensors 16
- New upgraded KYB shocks (better than stock)
- Heinous control arms (improved stability, shimmied too much over bumps on stock ones)
- Stainless works headers & cats (improve top end and V8 sounds great - though I have retained stock exhaust from cats back which means it is quiet when pootling and is satisfyingly though not embarrassingly loud under hard acceleration)
- New battery
- New head and side lights (old ones foggy), plus kept old ones just in case
- Xenon conversion (not pictured - improved dreadful headlights somewhat)
- Replaced original pistol-style searchlight cover with chrome version. Also converted to LED unit
- Pioneer stereo with reversing camera, Bluetooth/phone mic (have the old Ford unit too)
- Parking sensors - it is pretty big, even with camera I ve bumped it a couple of time without these. Now it s fine to park!
- Replaced driver s seat squab, but grey cloth upholstery original. Has cloth rather than plastic back seat.

Also for sale; I have Ford racing LSD and (slightly) lower final drive, which will improve grip and pick up (though car speedo/ECU need a proper tune after fitting). Also some higher performance spark plugs. Oh, and some offroading main beam LEDs to fit inside front grille, because Xenons don t have high beam - live in London so not an issue for me). Cost me 6-700, but will sell the lot for 450. Or it s eBay.
