Genuine 2 US owner truck from new, having had a loved and cherished life
Desirable half ton short bed.
In its original green factory paint with great patina. This truck has never been repainted! Clear coat the original paint and use as is, it took 60 odd years to achieve this look!
Still utilizing press button starter
Has original keys, including door locks which work
Original Ford 239 cubic inch 3900cc Flathead V8 petrol engine with 3 speed floor change transmission.
Truck has dual glass pack mufflers fitted for that "proper" V8 sound.
The truck has been registered recently in the US and has been regularly used.
It starts, runs drives and stops very very well indeed. The engine fires straight up, sounds great, does not show any signs of excess wear , rattles or smoke!
All the cab gauges work apart from the temperature, and all lights work. The wipers work too.
Properly converted to 12 volts for easier modern day driving
Body wise this is just about as solid a truck as you will find. The cab corners and floors are very solid. The chassis is very solid. There is some rust through in the side steps but nothing to get excited about.
The sheet metal is very very straight.
The interior is all original and very very tidy as you can see from the photos.
All cab glass is in excellent undamaged condition.
This model is one of the most desirable set ups in old trucks, the flathead V8 engine is sought after in the US and is popular with tuners!
The truck is currently fitted with later bigger wheels and tyres but does also come with the original steel rims!
This truck has had most of the mechanicals replaced over a 5 year period, new brakes, cab glass, window seals, engine ancillaries etc etc in order to make it a good reliable driving truck.
This is a turn key ready to drive truck. It needs nothing and will be supplied in the UK road registered with a V5 document so you can drive it away.
Of course the truck is MOT and Road Tax exempt. That said though,of course it does need to be road legal!
The truck is missing its lower valance panel under the grill, I can supply a new steel panel if required
The truck is a great piece of US history either use as is or restore it to its former glory!
All parts are available for these trucks both here in the UK and in the US. In fact you could rebuild the entire truck with replacement parts should you so wish!
No silly offers, no trades, finding these trucks in their original state is becoming increasingly difficult.Sourcing them and shipping them to the UK is an expensive task.
Many have been scrapped and many have been hot rodded with later engines etc.
Remember , this is a 65 year old truck. As such it will drive like one. It will not drive like your 2010 BMW.
