Restoration in our workshops just completed:1965 Ford Galaxie 500 LTD 289 V8 Pillarless Sedan with 3-speed Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission.Factory Power Steering, A/C (removed but supplied) original steel wheels and wheel covers fitted with new white band tyres.<br />

This great looking Galaxie appears to be in factory specification with its original 289 V8 C code engine and transmission still fitted with its original carburetor,air cleaner,front and rear seat belts and radio.The Galaxie LTD came with luxurious interior and appointments and special badging. Suspension on the 1965 Galaxie models was redesigned replacing the former leaf-spring rear suspension with a new three-link system, with coil springs all of which made for much improved ride and handling.<br />

Just fully repainted in original Ford Sunlit Gold metallic paint. Virtually all of the interior has been renewed including seat covers,dash top,headlining and carpets. A photo record showing all stages of the strip down and repaint will come with the car to form the basis of a new UK history file. New custom exhaust fitted and the braking system overhauled. New carburetor kit fitted and tuned, new oil and filter,new timing gears and new exhaust and rocker gaskets.Transmission has been serviced with new gaskets,fluids and filter. Will be supplied with 12 months MOT and being an Historic Vehicle road tax is of course free.<br />

The mid 1960"s Galaxies are an impressive sight on the road with this particular example no less so and for such a big car powers smoothly through the Cruise-O-Matic transmission and has a surprising turn of speed! It will be supplied with new UK registration and new black plates.<br />
