1930 Ford Model A based Roadster Pick Up<br />

This is a real deal Hot Rod from the 50"s though it"s history is a little misty. It"s a 27 T body and shortened model A pick up bed sitting on 1930 Model A frame and running gear. It sports the actual grille that was the prototype built by legendary customisers Dick Dean and Sam Barris and featured in the 1957 Hot Rod magazine annual for the grill on "The Flamer Coupe" a famous car of the 50"s.<br />

For the past several years the car was owned by Dick Dean"s son Keith, I have a signed statement from him to that effect<br />
<br />
Mechanics.... Model A engine with updraught twin carbs, 3 speed gearbox and stock rear axle, front axle is undropped, rod brakes that work very well, stock steering. Ali radiator.<br />
<br />
Bodywork is as good as it gets with no rust or signs of repair under it"s satin black paint. You have to remind yourself its 88 years old!<br />
<br />
As you can see in the pictures it has lots of nice bits and bobs for instance the Grille, Stewart Warner Gauges, Louvred hood, The rev counter pod, Fuel tank, Pin stripping, even a toilet door lock! All this combining to make a really cool car. Sorry but the Crager hub caps are no longer with it. It"s eligible for all VHRA events and it would stand proud in a bunch of Hot Rods.<br />

It"s a real blast to drive attracting attention and looks everywhere it goes! I"m 6"4" and the cockpit length is a real squeeze and a struggle to drive, better fit if your under 6ft, this said it does drive very well, with good brakes and steering <br />
