What you are looking at is half of planet Earth"s allocation of McLaren"s looney track-only racer: the P1 GT-R.Twelve of them, all kettled into one whiter-than-white warehouse in Woking. Why? Well, not being road-legal, it"s where McLaren"s Special Operations unit (MSO) maintains and preps the cars on behalf of the owners as part of the 2million+ asking price. So *quizzically pulls out a calculator* that collection of pixels above (which is available to download if you so wish) equates to 11,832bhp, over 24 million and a full-on acid trip of paintjobs. As TopGear.com found out exclusively last year, if you stump up the two million quid to be part of the P1 GTR programme, you can paint your new track toy in whatever colour or livery you want.As you can see, some owners took McLaren up on this offer. We especially like the person who used our gallery of retro liveries as a mood board for his Fina-liviered one. Oh, and the person that painted their GTR in turquoise and then gave a five-year-old a sharpie and said, do your worst!"For those who need a quick reminder, the P1 GTR is a McLaren P1 and then some. With 197bhp from the e-motor (up 21bhp) and a heftily unnecessary 789bhp from the twin-turbo V8 (plus 62bhp), power is set at a pretty heady 1,000PS (986bhp).Weight has been stripped out almost everywhere the fixed rear wing means there"s no need for heavy hydraulic struts, polycarbonate replaces glass all round, including the windscreen and there"s extra carbon. In total, about 150kg has been shaved out. Plus the suspension components and geometry have been heavily revised although that"s all adjustable anyway. If you missed it, we raced one last year against a helicopter gunship. It was quite something. But owning the car is just part of the GTR experience. Once you"ve transferred a small-to-medium size country"s GDP into Big Ron"s bank account, you get a private consultation with McLaren Design Director, Frank Stephenson where you discuss with the design team how you"d like your car painted, then have a bespoke seat, tailor-made helmet and a race suit fitted up.Then, it"s off to the F1 simulator to receive driver training for the six events held in the P1 GTR season", which starts at Circuit de Catalunya, Spain. Before you go and check if you accidentally put our lottery ticket in the wash over the weekend, all 30 P1 GTRs are accounted for, so you"ll have to wait until one pops up in the classifieds.
