You may be aware of the work of photographic sleuth, Alex Penfold. He"s our resident supercar paparazzo. The man we regularly dispatch onto the streets of London armed with nothing more than a camera, a tin of Spam and some fizzy pop to keep him going through the cold nights. His mission? To aim his shutter at the latest and greatest supercars that slink themselves around our city"s streets. But after months of crawling around London, he"s gone global. First stop in this new three-part series? California, America. Centring around the moneyed Monterey area, he"s sent back an SD card full of staggering images that form quite an automotive postcard. Y"know, the normal jaw-dropping kerbside scenes of Bugatti concepts, Mclaren P1 GTRs, LaFerraris, one-off Koenigseggs, Porsche 959s, Ferrari F50s and pretty much every hypercar known to man. Because of the sheer vastness of the state, supercar spotting isn"t as simple Stateside as the shooting-fish-in-a-barrel situation encountered in the height of summer around Harrods. However, our man Alex has still delivered the goods.Flick through the gallery above for his findings, and if you"re up for a challenge, try to name all the super-expensive metal in the gallery.
