Monterey, mid-August, is a pretty special place to camp out in for a few days if you are a fan of cars. Specifically, rather delightful classic supercars against a backdrop of more modern stuff. More specifically, pristine, concours-spec cars that are worth a heck of a lot of money.Yup, California"s annual car week is a back-to-back celebration of the finest motoring has to offer. And the Quail Motorsport Gathering has, for fourteen years, been a fine instalment. It"s held just before the Pebble Beach concours d"elegance at the Quail Lodge and Golf Club, and this year hosted much exotica. It took in the 50th anniversary of the gorgeous Lamborghini Miura, BMW"s centenary, and of course, the Bugatti Chiron. (If you want the full lowdown on the Chiron, just click here.)So take five and have a flick through these pics. Includes: lots of Lamborghinis, lots of Veyrons, some BMWs, the Chiron, a classic Batmobile and a dog. Enjoy.
