Our Italian friends certainly know how to a) put on a show, and b) create scintillating, sexy supercars. You"re really onto something when the two come together. And boy have they been onto something. Over the last few months Italy has played host to some incredible motoring events and our photographic ninja Alex Penfold has been there to capture the action. Bene. First stop was a ritzy washout - aka the 2019 Villa d"Este show. If you"re in need of a reminder, the Concorso d"Eleganza is a gathering of the world"s finest cars at one of the world"s most spectacular locations. It takes place every year at the Grand Hotel Villa d"Este on the shores of Lake Como. 50 classics all of them gorgeous compete in eight categories, and for an outright Best in Show" trophy. After Villa d"Este, Alex thumbed his way down to Sardinia to join Pagani for its 20th birthday bash. This year"s private Pagani road trip had the latest and greatest works of Horacio, spanning two decades of exquisite artisan car building. They huddled together in a gorgeous carbon fibre conga line and soaked up some of Italy"s finest scenery, sunsets and roads, plus the incredible blue and green waters of Italy"s south coast. The turquoise hues are actually so green and blue, it leaves you wondering if there was some sort of industrial accident at the Listerine factory. Just look at those images utterly stunning. Now, who is feeling clever? All of you we bet this is the internet after all, the font of all knowledge. Well, some internet non-refundable, worthless internet points are up for grabs for the person who puts their head above the parapet and names all the cars in the gallery above. Be careful, there are some really slippery ones in there and our comments section takes no prisoners.Photography: Alex Penfold
