Premium brand Genesis has only just announced it will launch in Europe this summer, but the Korean brand has already teased another new model that could be added to its European line-up with these initial images of a Shooting Brake estate model.
Wearing heavy camouflage and revealed in a series of cropped images, the new model clearly sports a svelte estate-like body style, with a heavily raked hatchback and s sloping C-pillar that gives the estate a sporty roofline and a sleek look.
Even with the car’s disguise, it’s clear to see from the images that Genesis’s familiar ‘two lines’ design theme features in the car’s headlights and tail-lights, as well as with the vents behind the model’s front wheels.
Genesis will make its debut in Europe with the brand’s G80 saloon and GV80 SUV, large executive models to rival the likes of the Mercedes E-Class and GLE SUV.
The premium brand has confirmed that the G70 compact executive saloon and GV70 SUV will follow soon after, and although unconfirmed, it’s likely that this new Shooting Brake model is based on the G70.

While the company has not explicitly named the Shooting Brake as a G70, the car has already been spied testing in Europe, while its proportions point towards a car smaller than the G80.
Given Genesis’s plans to bring 70 models to Europe following the launch of its 80 series cars, it’s likely that an eventual production version of a G70 Shooting Brake will join the range. This could well be the bespoke product for Europe scheduled to arrive “within the year” that Genesis outlined following its recent commitment to sales in the European market.
A production G70 Shooting Brake would be joined by further models, with three battery electric vehicles planned by summer 2022 - one of which will be built on a bespoke EV platform, likely to be parent company Hyundai’s E-GMP underpinnings.
It’s thought that the Genesis X concept uses this architecture, while the second model is likely to be the recently unveiled Electrified G80 saloon. It’s currently unknown what form Genesis’s third EV will take.
Will Genesis make it big in Europe? Let us know what you think in the comments...
