All aboard the New British Supercar train. We"ll be making stops at Racing Car Downforce, Bespoke Carbon Chassis and Limited Production Run. But first, Cynicism Halt, because this isn"t vapourware. Ginetta is a sports car maker we"ve not only heard of it"s established in the upper echelons of motorsport too. And so, using parts and knowledge from Ginetta"s 2019 LMP1 car, the West Yorkshire marque has cooked up this eye-poppingly angry-looking supercar. Pretty" it most certainly is not, but if this is form simply following function, it ought to be pretty spectacular at going fast. Power comes from a dry-sumped, naturally aspirated V8 that"s mounted ahead of the cockpit, but so far behind the front axle it"s practically in the footwell. The block"s milled from billet aluminium, and ought to be good for over 600bhp and 516lb ft, we"re promised. Ginetta says "engine response is immediate and balancing the car on the throttle requires no electronic aids." Eek.
