Yep, Smokey and the Bandit is 40 years old.
The quintessential road movie met comedy that probably sold more cars than anything to come out out of Hollywood before or since, and still an enjoyable movie today.

Happy birthday to one of my favorite movies.

Awesome film. Very enjoyable and some great car spotting to be had in there too.

I watched the original Cannonball Run the other day too, also starring Burt Reynolds and a fair number of subtle Bandit references in there too.
