Want to know more? Of course you do. This C6 Corvette has been heavily modified in more ways than one. The tube frame chassis, tubed wheel wells and custom body work is a given. However, the big news is under the hood.Built and designed by Al-Anabi Performance (AAP) in Qatar, this Corvette features a twin-turbocharged V6 engine. Yes, a V6 Corvette, a 498 cubic-inch one. Based on an Alan Johnson Performance Engineering 5300 Hemi V8, AAP custom-designed a variant with two cylinder lopped off. Yes, it gets even wackier: a Hemi V6 in a Corvette. However, it gets even wackier: the engine has a massive 5.300 inch bore, and in 6-cylinder guise starts off at 560 cubic inches (9.2L). This one has been destroked to a mere 498 cubes though. that engine is then twin-turbocharged to produce in excess of 2,500 horsepower. The end result is certifiably insane, with the car running 3.80’s in the 1/8th mile, carrying trap speeds in excess of 200mph. I have to admit, it sounds bizarre hearing an uncorked, blown V6 as the ‘Vette lights up the rear tires. However, the results it produces are unquestionable. After a few shots at it, with what must be said: consider variation in times, the V6 Corvette sets a new Outlaw 10.5 record: 3.85@201mph in the 1/8th.Well then…
