Pro Mod racers frequently convert their cars to run eighth-mile or quarter-mile, but this conversion is a new one. After Skinny Kid Race Cars built a new Hurst Oldsmobile Pro Mod, the old one headed to race on a different surface: sand. For a car never at all designed to race off pavement, the Hurst digs into the sand reasonably well, although it gets sideways, just a bit, especially in the shutdown area. However, the Pro Mod gets off the line reasonably well for something that can cover an eighth-mile in under four seconds.
