We don"t get the Hyundai Veloster anymore in the UK, but for fans of the oddly-doored coupe, perhaps this might be of interest. Hyundai has teamed up with Gurnade Inc. to produce the "race-ready" Gurnade Veloster Concept, headed for this year"s SEMA show. We"re told that the concept will feature a heap of racing goodies: a custom (enormous) rear wing, a wider track with new wings, side skirts and slick tyres wrapped around lightweight forged wheels. There"s more. There"s a list as long as your arm which talks about the upgrades and modifications to the engine, chassis and design. The intercooler and exhaust have been overhauled, as have the suspension and brakes. Inside, Hyundai tells us that there are new racing seats and harnesses, as well as a full roll cage and a carbonfibre steering wheel. They"ve also thrown in a Phoenix Gold subwoofer and a new amplifier, but if this is as race-ready as we"re told to believe, then why does it need a radio? As you"d expect from a computer drawing, we can"t reveal any juicy power figures just yet. But last year"s Veloster concept boasted a full 500bhpWords: Ben CustardShare this page: FacebookTwitterGoogle+WhatsAppMailtoCopy link
