As Chevy just introduced the world to the all new five-door Chevy Cruze at this year"s Detroit Auto Show, everyone"s been clamoring about whether or not this means Chevy will build a high performance version ala Ford Focus ST. According to CarAdvice, that is definitely possible. The blog caught up with Chevy"s CEO Alan Batey at the Detroit Auto Show who stated, "We"ve really positioned this as sporty, and to appeal to those young, fashion-conscious consumers that are looking for something in the compact segment."He went on and said that the company is definitely looking at a high performance version, but declined to give any details. Hopefully, with the introduction of the hatchback, and everyone clamoring for more Fiesta and Focus STs, Chevy will pull the trigger and make an SS Cruze. So what do you all think? Should Chevy build a high performance version to compete with the likes of Ford, Fiat, Volkswagen, and Mercedes?Tags: Cruze, Detroit Auto Show, Hatchback, High Performance, Rumors, SS
