Don"t worry, you don"t need to dive into the comments section to tell us that this isn"t a car. We know that already, for its lack of two more tyres, a steering wheel and pedal set kind of gives that away. But this is a bike worth talking about, mainly because it might be the Harley Davidson of the future. We say might", as it"s in no way official. Rather it"s a pretty rendering from a photoshop whiz that could tempt even us into a leather romper suit. This particular creation is from digital designer, Ion Turcan. It was entered into a competition that had keen Photoshopists duke it out to create their own take on a classic Harley. For his entry, Ion apparently went for a mash-up of a custom chopper with a hint of futuristic bobber, over a 2012 Softail powered by a twin-cam 1,690cc Harley engine. Now, to us car types, that previous sentence is merely a set of random words jumbled together. But even if our brains can"t compute what"s going on, our eyes can. And it"s good news. There"s no denying it"s cool. The simple, flowing design and minimalist frame set over such a big engine is both simultaneously elegant and purposeful. Just look at the way the skinny fuel tank flows all the way back to the dual exhausts, and how the handlebars stylishly protrude out. Very neat. It"s functional too. That big twin-cylinder needs to glug down plenty of air, so in order to breathe, there"s a big air vent below the central headlight. There"s also a digital gauge receded into the fuel tank that displays the speedometer, rev counter, odometer and a sat nav system. Let"s just hope in the future they find a way to make touchscreens work with thick leather gloves, aye? Share this page: FacebookTwitterGoogle+WhatsAppMailtoCopy link
