When is the last time you saw a second generation Chevrolet Camaro? In terms of muscle cars they tend to be overlooked in favor of the 1960’s models, which are the progenitors of the muscle and pony car wars. Additionally, the 1970’s introduced smog controls, which, at the time, were in their infancy in terms of development, and did little more than choke the engines until they coughed and wheezed. Sadly, the power figures continued to plummet at the second generation cars were produced, until a V8-powered Camaro could only eek out 145 horsepower in 1975, oh how the mighty had fallen.This particular Camaro was resigned to the junk yard, that is, until it’s current owner found it and fixed everything wrong with it. By dropping in a 6.0L LSX truck motor, it would have already been pretty quick, with about 350 horsepower. However, while at the junkyard the idea was hatched to add boost, but not just with one turbo, or even two. No, this particular LSX-swapped Camaro features four turbochargers, coining the term “Budget Bugatti” in reference to the Bugatti quad-turbo W16 engine. Those turbochargers are small K03 units taken off several Ford EcoBoost engines, but the K03 turbo is used in many different OEM applications from domestic to European or Asian. Tags: camaro, LSX, LSX camaro, LSX turbo, quad turbo, Turbo Camaro
