Noise? Check. Power? Check. Oversteer? Um, check. Lamborghini has done the honourable thing and revealed a rear-wheel-drive only version of the Huracan Spyder.The first car to emerge under new boss Stefano Domenicali"s reign then, combines both the "appeal of open air motoring with the pure thrill of rear-wheel-drive engineering". Yup, an oversteery, drop-top Lambo.It retains the 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10, here making 580bhp, sent to the rear wheels via a seven speed dual clutcher to record a 0-62mph time of 3.6s (slower than all the other variants), a 0-124mph time of 10.4s and a top speed of 198mph. It"s heavier than the other Huracans, mind, here clocking in at 1509kg. But it does get optimised springs and anti-roll bars, a specific steering setup and recalibrated stability and traction controls. Lambo reckons on a 40:60 front to rear weight distribution.The front and rear of the RWD Spyder have also been redesigned too: new front air intakes, special 19in wheels, rear fins, integrated ducts and removal windguards.
