An LS-swapped RX-7 is about as much as you can have without taking your clothes off.The Mazda RX-7 is a great handling little sports car. However, for this “FC” generation RX-7, it was in desperate need of more grunt. With it’s naturally-aspirated rotary engine, it produced 160 horsepower. That isn’t awful for a 2,600 pound car, if for example, your grandmother was driving it. However, a little more never hurt anyone. In this case, a “little more” resulted in an LS1/T56 swap with an 8.8 rear axle to handle to torque. Ashley, the owner of this FC did decide to add a little more to a little more, so this LS-swapped FC RX-7 is now making 480 horsepower. That is exactly triple the factory output. Needless to say, this car can hustle.Fortunately, the owner of this car does not have a death wish, so this FC RX-7 has been fitted with much wider FR500 wheels off a Ford Mustang, which are wrapped in 275 section-width road racing slicks. Despite a few initial quirks with the steering, the car looks well-balanced and setup to stop, corner and go, when needed.Check it out in it’s full glory here:
