Last year the ACO designed and created a new class of racers dubbed LMP3. This was created to a be cheaper and more competitive version of the more advanced LMP1 and LMP2 cars that would bring more talent and money into the realm of endurance racing. The idea was simple, take a car that looked and felt like an LMP car, but restrict its materials, cost and drivetrain to make it affordable. If this sounds like your kind of party (and seriously, it should sound like every auto enthusiasts" kind of party) Ginetta just announced they are selling a new car that fits the regulations. This machine is dubbed the G57 and it ticks all the ACO"s boxes for an LMP3 car. Carbon tub, crash box, steel roll cage for reinforcement, and that cool LMP design, complete with sharks fin. Oh, and eight angry cylinders from GM in the shape of a 6.2-liter LS3 engine to give the whole kit some thrust.Yeah, it"s a race-prepped, Corvette-powered supercar and I want one, real bad. No word on what one of these will cost, but the Oreca car that was created to fit the ACO"s original rule set had a max price of $264,000.
