The new BMW Z4 M40i has a turbocharged six-cylinder engine that produces a really rather healthy 335bhp and 369lb ft of torque. Would you really want any more in a two-door convertible sports car? Yes, is the answer. Yes, you would. Thankfully, the folks over at Manhart are here to save the day. The German tuner has massaged that engine by fitting a bigger turbo and intercooler, as well as giving it a software update, so that it now chucks out 493bhp and a faintly terrifying 502lb ft of torque. That"s the same brake horsepower as the no-frills M4 GTS. Crikey. With that cloth roof folded away it should sound every bit as exciting too, as Manhart has fitted a new stainless-steel, quad-exit sports exhaust system. Set the sat nav to tunnel".
