EB tresos SafetyOperating System multi-core from Elektrobit (EB) is a new operating systemfor automotive electronic control units (ECUs). According to the company, it isthe first safety operating system in the automotive industry that enablescarmakers and suppliers to create AUTOSAR-based multi-core control unitsconforming to the highest Automotive Safety Integrity Level (ASIL D) in accordwith ISO 26262. With EB"s new operating system, carmakers and suppliers canintegrate multiple software functions from different vendors withoutinterfering with each other on one ECU. This technology combines theflexibility of AUTOSAR multi-core software architectures with needs of safetyprojects. It is now possible to distribute software components to differentcores without affecting the availability of the individual central processingunit cores, claims the company.
