This wonderful car has twice graced the pages of Classic American Magazine, once back in October 2011 as a Readers Ride, and once again this year. It draws admiring glances wherever it is seen, and mustn"t be compared to the run of the mill offerings, which often command the same prices.

It looked mighty fine back in 2011 and has been much improved since, last year alone saw an expenditure of 15,000,courtesy of the highly respected Roy Holmes at The Mustang Workshop!

The bodywork is beautifully straight and was fully professionally restored and repainted, which involved a baremetal job, with all window glass removed. The colour is the original, Silver Smoke Grey metallic with white stripes, which looks fabulous. Panel fitment is very good, with the doors shutting perfectly. The car is finished, painted and detailed to the same standard on the underside.

The original 289 engine has also been the subject of a rebuild, with much upgrading and comprises of Trickflow big valve heads, Triflow headers with a Flowmaster exhaust system, Edelbrock inlet manifold with Holley carburettor, etc.
The transmission is now been replaced in favour of a five-speed Tremec manual transmission and a new LSD was fitted at Hauser Racing. The underpinnings haven t been overlooked either, there s an uprated front anti-roll bar, rack and pinion steering, a front disc brake conversion, new telescopic dampers, new leaf springs and a rear sway bar kit.
Other detailed work includes a complete new Painless wiring loom, sound deadening kit, Kenlowe fan, aluminium radiator running on Evans waterless coolant, etc.

The interior too looks as stunning as the exterior, with new white vinyl seat covers, headlining and black carpet set. A new 1966 style dash has also been fitted. The original aircon system has survived and is fully working.

Fitting a Moto-Lita woodrim steering wheel, maybe an unusual choice for an American car, but it does blend in extremely well. The Rallye Pack instrument gauge set-up looks familiar, but they are all new Classic Instrument gauges. The original all come with the car .

Here is a snippet of Classic American"s findings:

Fitment of a high torque starter motor, ensures the upgraded 289cu in engine starts on the button. We let it warm up a tad before moving off for the test drive. The action of the clutch pedal is quite heavy and requires a real positive input, which can also be said of the shifter. However, one thing that is instantly noticeable, is how well this Mustang handles, the steering is so crisp and precise and hard application of the brake pedal has the nose dipping down. With the tuned engine, performance is seriously brisk, the exhaust note intoxicating, which all culminate in one very well sorted and desirable Stang, with a great deal of muscle appeal! Vendor Andrew Hebron has over the years, owned and sold more Mustangs than he cares to remember and he reckons this example is possibly the best he s ever had. We can understand why.

As always, i"d be happy the offer Part Exchange facilties with another classic car.
