Last year, with the help of the mental 208 T16 and Sebastien Loeb, Peugeot Sport utterly obliterated the Pikes Peak record.
And now, in the hunt for total motorsport domination, the French firm has teamed up with Hansen Motorsport to compete in the inaugural season of the FIA's World Rallycross Championship. In the 208 T16. Oh yes.
But before you overdose on excitement, we can't yet confirm how closely the Rallycross 208 will resemble the Pikes Peak car. But, considering that cars in the top Supercar class have 600bhp, 500lb ft of torque and can do 0-62mph in two seconds - on gravel - we're confident it won't feel too watered-down.
Having won four European titles in a row between 1987 and 1990 with the legendary Peugeot 205 T16, this won't be the first time that Peugeot has competed in Rallycross.
But this year is the first time that Rallycross (or RX, if you're down with the kids) will hit the world stage as an FIA event. It's being run over 12 events in exotic locations including Finland, Turkey, Argentina and Lydden Hill. But as Jeremy, James and Richard will testify, Rallycross is one of the most entertaining and hilarious forms of motorsports - no matter where it takes place.
We'll bring you more about the RX T16 and who'll be driving it in the next few weeks. Early bets are on at least one of the Peugeot works drivers being called Gary. Everyone in Rallycross is called Gary.
