Leicester City have won the Premier League. We appreciate you may not be of the football persuasion, and might be keen to avoid the coverage elsewhere. But it"s a story relatable to cars. Promise.See, Leicester were quite rubbish last season. So for them to climb from one end of the league table to the other, winning a trophy usually held by big teams with vast international fan bases, is something quite unheard of.And it"s not unlike the story played out by Leicester"s other team, that of Noble Automotive. For years Noble sold variations of a car called the M12, which spun a trackday car from a Ford Mondeo engine. It certainly wasn"t rubbish, but it was underrated. Then, in 2010, Noble launched the M600, a supercar with a 650bhp V8 engine, a 225mph top speed and a 200,000 price tag. Leicester"s sports car maker was unexpectedly taking on the big boys, and while it might not have toppled them quite as emphatically as Vardy, Mahrez and co, there"s little else to choose from if you"re a rich car collector bored of Ferraris, McLarens and Lamborghinis, and specifically their nannying electronics (the M600 doesn"t even have ABS).So as the football team round the corner parade a big shiny trophy from an open-top bus, here is Leicester"s other unlikely hero, smoking its tyres around the Top Gear test track.Hooray for underdogs!
