Steering problem results in 2014 Infiniti Q50 recall.[h=3]2014 Infiniti Q50[/h] The Problem: Models of the 2014 Infiniti Q50 equipped with Direct Adaptive Steering (DAS), a system that uses electrical controls to operate the steering, may have the steering system fail in freezing temperatures. Worse still, in that case the mechanical steering backup may not engage quickly. Infiniti learned of the issue after a customer in Canada suffered this problem. This problem only occurs on models that previously had received a software update for the DAS; that fix was intended to improve the steering feel and calibration, but has a software error that causes a failure in cold weather.
