This is the Koenigsegg Agera XS". An incredibly orange, incredibly powerful and ludicrously lightweight Agera that"s the first RS megacar to get a green card and become a fully-fledged US citizen. Yep, it"s heading for California"s glitzy Monterey Car Week.Orange, isn"t it? Not just any old orange, but Karosserie Orange"; a zingy finish with a delicate diamond-dust metallic effect. To offset the punchy colour, there"s an incredibly costly clear carbon centre strip. We have to say, we"re digging the combo.You may also notice that massive carbon fibre wing. It"s the largest wing to ever grace the rear deck of a Koenigsegg. Why? Because the American owner wanted it. And when you"re buying a car from Christian von Koenigsegg, nothing is off the cards. Plus, it"s going to America.As a quick reminder, the Agera RS is a harder version of the Agera R (hardly a shrinking violet in itself), but a sort of Diet" One:1.With a 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 pumping out over 1300bhp connected to a seven-speed paddle shift gearbox, the Agera RS can accelerate from 0-186mph in just 14 seconds. Then hit 250mph just six seconds later.Boasting 1.8g of cornering force, a tad down on the aggressively aero"d One:1 (which can corner at 2g). But, with extra luggage space, fractionally better rear visibility, a front and rear lift system, comfy adjustable carbon seats and a detachable hardtop (that can be stored in the front), it"s a bit more practical.Still capable of biting your face off at the track, mind. Over the Agera R, the RS gets lightweight sound insulation, a new track-optimised front splitter, front winglets, side skirts, dynamic underbody flaps, an active rear spoiler with 450kg of downforce at 155mph, and improved side air outlets behind the front wheels.It"s lighter, too. Weighing in at 1,394kg with fluids on board, it"s just shy of the hallowed one-to-one power-to-weight ratio. But, that zingy orange paint makes up the difference in our world.
