Williams F1 has announced Robert Kubica will partner rookie George Russell for the 2019 Formula One World Championship season. Kubica made his F1 debut towards the end of the 2006 season with BMW Sauber. The first Polish driver to ever compete in F1, he scored his first podium in only his third race. To date, Kubica has achieved 12 podium finishes and one win, which helped him to a career-best fourth place overall in the 2008 Drivers" Championship. The 33-year-old hasn"t raced in F1 for eight years, after sustaining serious injuries in a rallying crash. His right arm was partially severed in the crash, which happened in Italy in 2011 before that year"s F1 season began.
