Under the current rules a car does not become exempt from Vehicle Tax until it is at least 40 years old. There are vehicles within the 20 to 40 year age bracket that are well loved, modern classics and without a reduction in tax, we may see these vehicles disappear from our roads.
Nice, numbers going the right way. There must be a 100,000's of cars that fit this criteria. Perhaps not all of them know. Its on many car club websites/facebook pages. Word is gettign around.
When I read the title, "Reduce Vehicle Tax for cars aged between 20 and 40 years old" I see that as beteen 20 and 40 years old, perhaps half price(reduced in some way) tax, after 40 years, tax excempt.
The government read it as changing the rolling 40 years to a rolling 20 years.
yes i just read the e mail from them as well , sound's like a plan but that would be to simple
just think all the new car cars weather hybrid or full EV not paying any road tax,
