Sitting in traffic with brake lights

Do you notice the increasing number of people sit in traffic with brake lights on, its like a darn fog light shining in your eyes. Were they not taught to use a hand brake? Is it lazyness? is it a fault with the car or driver? I do find it annoying, does this get on anyone elses nerves?

Is it due to more cars being automatic, so they just have a stop and go pedal but surely there is a handbrake?
Is it due to start stop technology? does that require to be in neutral with your foot on the brake or something?

Although its not an offence to sit there with brake lights on there is some grey area, if it is causing issues with the driver behind it is an offence. Some interesting reading, 400 Bad Reques

Personally I do find it dazzling annoying getting burnt retinas from the laziness of drivers in front. Don't get me started on front light brightness. arggh!.

I find myself doing it in the daily due to the electric hand brake. The electric hand brake is slow and inconvenient compared to a traditional one.

So I guess the problem will only get worst the more cars are made like that. Its a bit of a design floor. Perhaps we can get window tint for the front screen that goes dark when in traffic to block out the light. lol.

Perhaps the electric handbrake will become more easier for future cars. I did drive a Peugeot company car that has a push button electric brake, there was no release button, you just had to pull away and when it felt you doing so it would release. Admittedly it was a faff operating that in traffic.

Not around these parts not much traffic
