YouTuber and all-around cool guy Cleetus McFarland has been on a bit of a tear lately. As you’ve undoubtedly heard, he just reset the record books with an incredible 7-second pass in his twin turbo, LS-powered, manual transmission Corvette cart dubbed Leroy. But the row-your-own master wasn’t done just yet. So he followed up that feat by hopping behind the wheel of Texas Speed‘s sixth-gen Camaro and breaking yet another record. Because why not?But unlike his other ride, this one’s much closer to stock. In fact, the entire bottom end is factory fresh. The only go-fast goodies you’ll find here are a set of Texas Speed ported heads and a (hot) cam. And a Holley high ram intake. And that’s pretty much it. Of course, there’s also a set of slicks out back. Not much for a race car, especially when you factor in the “disadvantage” offered up by the manual transmission. But those details don’t matter much when McFarland puts the pedal to the metal. Banging through the gears, McFarland manages to push the Camaro to a solid 10.16 @ 133 mph right out of the gate. Not bad for a shakedown pass. Things got a little better the second time around with a 10.8-second pass, albeit with a slower 60-ft.But like they say, the third time’s a charm. This time around, McFarland squeezes a 9.98 out of the car. Which just so happens to also be a new heads/cam sixth-gen Camaro record. But he isn’t done yet. Before it’s all said and done, the crew manages a best pass of 9.89. Not too shabby for a barely modified car that’s still mild enough to drive every day!Join the LS1tech forums today!Tags: 6th Gen Camaro, camaro, Drag Racing, texas speed, Video
