A crate ZZ4 would get a better gain and is available from lots of UK distributors.
Is the gearbox the same in a V8 vs V6?

Gearboxes are diffent, thing like the tacho output are a different resistance between the two.
If I was sticking in a V8, I'd upgrade to a manual tranny anyway.

Then if I was putting a V8 in it, then the rear end would nead to change, I think it can only lay rubber in '1' not '11's.

Just weld it up!! You always get number elevens then and you get chirping noises round corners too!
