This is a wonderful "Starsky & Hutch" replica, it is modelled on the version used in the original 70s series seasons 2 to 4.
You will note the chrome mirrors, silver coloured bumper filler panels and side body trims.
The car was built from a rust free 74 Gran Torino with low mileage and easy life having resided most of its life in dry sunny California. It is a genuine Gran Torino model.
The Story.

Beginning of January last year (2015) I commissioned a full frame off "nut and bolt" build of this iconic car. I had always wanted a Torino in "showroom condition"when this "once in a lifetime " opportunity to not only have one built but then to drive for a month around the USA presented itself. The guy that built it is very well known in the US for his skills and knowledge of this particular car. This is the 2nd Torino build he has completed to this standard, the first he built for himself. His company built what you see here over the next four months. I have a 150 photo restoration folder showing build from start to finish.
It was built to copy exactly the cars used in Series 2 to 4 of the original series. The builder also owns one of the original cars used in the 70s series and replicated that to make a 100 % accurate clone.
In April my partner and I flew to Texas to collect the car. We then proceeded to drive it for nearly 5000 miles around the USA before finally loading onto a ship in LA for its journey home to the UK.
Rather than post dozens of photos, please view several videos made by the builder. The car shown in these videos is THIS CAR.
Every nut and bolt was either replaced or restored. The result is a car whose finish far exceeds how it would have left the factory brand new in 1974.
Mechanically everything was replaced with new, I specified fitment of tyres as used originally in the 70s. These are brand new bias ply "balloons" as used in the 70s series.
Please view the videos, they represent the finish of the car better than any photos can. It has covered only 5000 miles since they were taken.
Summary

I believe it is fair to say that you will not find anywhere on earth a better example of this iconic car. Including purchase, shipping and duties this car owes me in excess of 30000 sterling.
If you appreciate quality and attention to detail then you will also appreciate that these virtues do not come cheap!
You can"t buy cars of this quality and finish for fifteen grand whatever you may may think, fact. You could not build this car to this standard in the UK for my asking price!
I don"t expect to recoup my entire investment in this car, that said I am not willing to give it away either. This is NOT a distress sale so if I don"t realise the price I am looking for I will simply keep it until I do. Offers will need to be close to the advertised price!
Finally PLEASE PLEASE do not email me telling me the car is too expensive or other such opinions, I have personally owned and imported 13 Torinos over the last 15 years and it"s fair to say I am very familiar with everything about them.
Serious discerning buyers only, no tyre kickers, low ballers , the car is kept in a dehumidified garage and will not be brought out into the inclement weather for "willy nilly" test drives!
IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THE BEST THEN THIS IS IT. THIS CAR IS EXCEPTIONAL.
Please also note, I will not send more photos, the videos show the car in great detail. The only difference being the underside is not sparkly and shiney and new now, it will need a wash.
Sorry no trades , straight sale only.
Serious interested buyers please call Pete on 07980921341
