You saw it take a class victory at Pikes Peak a few weeks ago. You also saw it being manhandled by Chris Harris and The Stig on Top Gear TV. Now, prepare to see a more hardcore version of it go flat out at a race circuit near you very, very soon.Ladies and gentlemen, please be upstanding for the brand new NSX GT3 racecar in all its carbon-fibre, bewinged glory. It was pictured undergoing development at the GingerMan Raceway in South Haven; just one of many circuits the NSX racer will be subjected to before it is homologated as an FIA GT3 car later this year.Specs? We have some. It uses the same 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 as the production car - everything right down to its pistons, crank, and dry sump setup - paired up to a six-speed sequential gearbox driving power to the rear wheels (no hybrid setup, you"ll notice).Then there"s the custom, carbon fibre body, underbody diffuser, bigger bonnet vents for better engine cooling and of course, that lovely, monstrous rear wing. It"ll all be bolted together at Acura"s manufacturing centre in Ohio - where the production NSX is being built - along with the engine too.We"re told initial development of the NSX GT3 car was conducted across Japan and Europe - naturally - while this final stage, where it racks up its global racing specs ahead of a 2017 racing debut, is currently being sorted out by Honda Performance Development in California."The Acura NSX GT3 racecar will advance the rich legacy of Acura sports car racing campaigns and championships," a statement reads, "including the 1991, 1992 and 1993 IMSA Camel Lights manufacturer and driver championships, and the 2009 American LeMans manufacturer, driver and team championships in both the LMP1 and LMP2 classes."GT3 cars are just the nuts, aren"t they?Top Gear drives the new Honda NSX
