I believe this is a fairly unique opportunity in the uk today for any discerning buyer of prestige vintage and classic vehicles to acquire a genuine low mileage rare and desirable motor car. This stunning Roman red Chevrolet Corvette C1 roadster dating from 1962 is a full matching numbers example with the larger 327 cubic inch V8 power plant that delivers 300 horse power That specification along with the fact that it is from the last year of production makes it among the most collectible of models. Amazingly it was in the same ownership in the USA for many years being the property of an elderly gentleman who used it very sparingly and it has covered a little over 20,000 miles that is verified with written,signed documentation from the vendor in America from whom i purchased it. It has been subjected to a frame off restoration and everything on the underside of the car is almost like new, and indeed the base of the fibreglass body is presented in its raw unpainted form just as the day it left the factory some 54 years ago .More recently it has been fitted with a new hood which is tight and crease free just as it should be and it is running on 4 brand new whitewall tyres fitted to the correct original steel wheels. The interior of the car is equally as nice with the original seats that display little signs of wear just as the mileage would suggest. The exterior paintwork has a deep lustre and shine and looks stunning but on close examination it does have age related marks and some evidence of micro blistering in places but still very very presentable. Likewise the chrome is all original and very nice but once again has age related deterioration in places being a little hazy but no signs of corrosion. The under bonnet detailing is nice too with everything displayed as original specification i believe. It is of course all import duty paid now MOT"d and registered for use in the uk with the registration number 521UYO.(awaiting plates to be fitted) I believe there are two choices of action for any new owner of this lovely car:- Firstly to use and enjoy it and be proud of it wherever they choose to take it without the worry of getting caught out by a shower of rain ! or strip it repaint and chrome and create a concourse example with extremely low mileage which would have a value of 75k according to Practical Classics on line price guide for a car of that caliber. According to a very well respected restoration company some 10k would be required to take it to that level of finish I am prepared to consider part exchange for a classic car /motorbike or commercial WHY ? I am prepared to deliver the car in a totally enclosed shuttle/trailer to most uk mainland destinations for a fee of 1.50 per mile.
