This Kill Story was shared to the forum in a thread by MuscleStang from the YouTube channel of Eddie Spade and it features a roll race between a C6 Chevrolet Corvette and a Ford Mustang GT from the New Edge (1999-2004) era. Unlike most built New Edge Mustangs, this car retains the lowly "2V 4.6-liter V8", but with enough modifications, you can make anything fast. In the case of these two cars, the Ford owner spent enough money for his car to be slightly quicker than a cammed LS3 Vette. The CompetitorsThe details are short, but we know that the Chevrolet Corvette serving as the camera car is powered by an LS3 V8 with an aftermarket camshaft, so it is making more power than it would have in stock form. The Mustang GT has an aftermarket camshaft of its own, along with a big blower from the folks at ProCharger. We would guess that there have been other changes made to the 2V 4.6-liter V8 to handle the added boost, but in short, the Corvette is cammed while the Mustang is cammed and blown. The BattleThe video begins with the two cars carefully lining up at speed and when the Mustang driver gives three honks of the horn, both drivers hammer down. The Corvette lurches ahead a bit at first, but the Mustang quickly draws even and pulls ahead. As speeds climb, the Mustang manages to get up to roughly the front bumper of the Chevy, perhaps pulling clear of the front end, but that is when the Ford driver lets off, having clearly won the race.As the Mustang drops out of camera view, we get a look at the speedometer of the Corvette, reading around 150 miles per hour, so in a roll race from what looked like 50 up to 150, this built 2V Mustang had the clear advantage over the cammed LS3 Vette.Crank up your speakers and enjoy!Join the LS1tech forums today!Tags: c6 corvette, Corvette, LS3, racing, Video
